Miss Saba Gilani

Dear Parent/Carer,

A very warm welcome to Early Years at CES Mangaf. I am very proud to serve as the Head of this department and to be leading an ambitious team of staff with huge potential. These are exciting times for the school and for the EY setting and I am delighted to be taking this department forward with a vision to be the best EY provision for young children in Kuwait.

I am determined to secure an outstanding future for our children and my aims are to build on the current strengths, develop a greater focus on enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, and take the setting forward on a journey to outstanding in all areas. I am committed to working with the staff, students and the local community to transform learning, aspirations and opportunities for our young students and in the community in which they live.

My aim is to ensure that our children have access to the best possible opportunities and experiences during their education, so that they can reach their full potential and are better prepared for the future. Our work is focused on developing and celebrating students as individuals and not just as learners. We believe that every child, regardless of ability, deserves a first class education. Everyone has hidden potential to be uncovered and nurtured and I strongly believe that together as a learning community we can unlock this potential.

Everything we do is about ensuring children’s experiences here help them to develop in a caring, supportive environment with a strong pastoral structure at the centre of the school. We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our children.

Finally, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website.

What Children Learn

Book View

We are delighted to welcome leading UK children’s author Ann Bryant, to give a presentation of her books and work with the children in creative writing workshops. Ann’s books will be available for purchase on the day and Ann will sign them for the children.

Greenery and nature is very important for young children’s healthy mind and body. Planting and sewing seeds teaches them the value of green planet and they learn to be kind and caring towards plants. Children had a great time learning about plants and growing our own garden .

I’m enthusiastic positive, motivated and energetic team leader specialised in teaching the British Early Years Curriculum for over a decade. As an experienced teacher I always make sure that each student gets as much as individual attention as possible and committed to raising standards and maximizing pupils progress with a long track record of delivering high learning opportunities and development for my students. Miss Yali
My name is Maha Mattar. I have been in the teaching field for 18 years. Nothing warms my heart like morning hugs from my students. You can truly feel their love. Teaching is my passion; I was born to be a teacher. I sculpt the minds of future leaders; there is nothing more satisfying than that. I remember every student that I had through my years of teaching because every one of them is unique. Children this age teach us more than we teach them. I can’t imagine being anything but a teacher, it is an honour.

Welcome to my teaching portfolio.

Experience has taught me how to build strong relationships. As a Kindergarten Teacher I am very calm, active and positive person who thoroughly enjoys working with children with an aim to set them on the right path for their future. I am very motivated when it comes to finding new ways to get children to enjoy their education.

I am very organized, and I enjoy keeping daily records such as observations and assessments of my students to prepare my lesson plans ahead of time. I have the ability to work within a team as well as cross-team. I am an excellent communicator and feel that I am able to communicate effectively with adults and children alike adopting different attitudes to suit the circumstance. I am a creative person by nature and enjoy encouraging my children in school. I have designed my personal teaching philosophy in the field of education. The key to my teaching philosophy is in relationship between the student and teacher.

It is necessary to make learning enjoyable, valuable, and accessible to the student.

It is my goal to remain energetic and excited about the subject and relay this enthusiasm to my student.

A teacher is a friend, philosopher, and guide who instils confidence in young minds and gives them a hope to dream. I truly find teaching experience very rewarding. This is my fifteenth year in CES. Here are some happy moments of my class in photos and videos.

Thanks you. Miss. Faten. KG.Green

My name is Asmaa Dhaif and I have had the privilege of being part of Cambridge English School Mangaf. I was born in Kuwait raised in Canada, and moved back to Kuwait in 2009.

I Began working at Cambridge English School in 2013-2014. After spending six years teaching KG class, I was excited to expand my role at Cambridge English School, first as Teacher and now as KG Team Leader. I have been in the Child

Development field for at least 6 years. I chose to work in the early years because I am passionate about early childhood education and advocating for children and their families. I absolutely love working with children. I have continued my education in the field with experience and knowledge from Canada and Kuwait.

I believe using your imagination is an important tool and skill children can develop at very early stage. I am very patient and creativity is one of my greatest strengths. Working with children is very exciting for me and I know they have loads of fun in their learning in my class.

Healthy Living

Last week at CES, the children all round school took part in a range of different activities to help them understand how to keep healthy. The school nurse visited us during healthy living week. She spent time with all children in KG and Reception talking to the children about dental hygiene and washing hands properly. They spent time cleaning Choc’s Teeth (a cuddly toy crocodile that the children loved!), pretending to be a dentist and listening to a story about a young boy’s trip to the dentist. We had a special visitor, the gym instructor, come in and exercised with the children. She also talked about the importance of rest and sleep for good health. Parents were freely invited to join in making fruit salad and other healthy snacks in children’s classrooms.
